Upon arrival at Nairobi airport you'll be met by our representative for your connecting flight direct to the Maasai Mara.
Upon touchdown at Angama Mara’s private airfield, a warm Swahili welcome awaits you. A five-minute drive to camp to check-in and venture out onto our deck and take in that breath-taking view of the Mara below.
Enjoy a delicious lunch with a chilled Tusker or glass of chardonnay and then it’s time to settle into your tent. While you are enjoying lunch, chat to your camp manager about all Angama has to offer in order to plan your stay to the fullest.
Over the next five days, be sure to include a visit to our Photographic Studio for any assistance you might need with your camera. Meet your guide who will be waiting at your private safari vehicle and begin your exploration of the Mara Triangle and the magnificent creatures that call it home. Return to the lodge in time to toast the sunset over the Great Rift Valley, with your drink of choice in hand. The perfect moment to recount your day.
After dinner, tuck into bed. Close the mesh sliding doors but leave the glass sliding doors open – the African night chorus is not to be missed.

This morning, enjoy a lie-in while watching the hot air balloons gently float past at eye-level from our 300-meter high vantage point up on the escarpment. If you feel like stretching your legs, join one of our Maasai naturalist guides and discover the Great Rift Valley on foot. This is your opportunity to learn more about Maasai culture as you wander through birdsong-filled forests and wide-open landscapes. As this is your final day, you wouldn’t want to miss the sun rise from the foot of your bed. For one last game drive down into the Mara Triangle, leave camp as early as possible in order to be back in time for breakfast. After a delicious breakfast, slowly begin to ready yourself for your departure. And please don’t forget to enter your best photographs into the Greatest Maasai Mara Photographer of the Year competition. This can be done at the Photographic Studio, or once you get home. Odyssey Safari’s turned our “vacation” into a lifetime of memories. We handed them our wishlist and they made it happen. There were a few bumps in the road along the way because of the airline personnel shortage but Odyssey stepped in and sorted airline as well as safari schedules.

Booked a last minute Safari to Kenya, to take advantage of terrific airfares from the States and to get ahead of the crowds, once people rush back to Africa to see the amazing wildlife, geography, and kind people. Odyssey navigated every detail - took the time to interview me and match what they learned to the type of accommodations and safari experience I was looking for. On a scale of 1-10, in multiple factors, they scored 10 each time - it was a flawless (and relaxing) trip.
What can I say! I definitely am blown away by Odyssey Safari. Before even arriving to Kenya Lucy was prompt in emailing us back and forth regarding the safari and what we would need for our visit. Everything was wonderful from the moment we were picked up from the airport by our tour guide Jackson who was on time at the airport and was waiting with a sign with our names on it. Jackson was great as our safari driver! We were able to see all big five animals up close and person. Jackson made sure that we had an incredible visit on our safari from the game rides to make sure we were comfortable in the lodges we stayed at. I will definitely be back again and will be requesting Jackson as my tour guide.
I would also highly recommend Odyssey Safaris for anyone looking to go to Africa. The hotels were clean, and considering that they had been closed for a year, they were in good order. The food was good and every member of the staff I encountered at each hotel, were kind and helpful. I will direct others who wish to go on a safari to your company. I have a few friends who are now looking to arrange a safari! Thank you for your exemplary organization of our safari and for having an amazing guide on staff.
We just returned how from one of the most incredible journeys I have every experienced, and I have explored hundreds of cities around the globe. An African Safari has always been a lot the top of my “must do” list, but timing and the expense have always held me back.
