Your journey begins in Nairobi then head to Amboseli National Park, famous for its large population of over 1000 resident elephants. Next is Meru National Park which was brought to fame in the 60’s through Joy Adamson’s bestselling book, Born Free, the true story about Elsa the lioness.
Finally, fly to the Masai Mara, famous for its astounding numbers of wildlife. With both resident and transient populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, elephant, to name a few, as well as over 450 bird species, the vast fertile plains are dense with game.

Welcome to Kenya! You shall arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where upon arrival, you will be welcomed and met by an Odyssey Safaris representative and chauffeured to your hotel in Nairobi. Your one-night stay at Hemingways Nairobi is on half board basis and drinks (excluding premium drinks).

After breakfast you'll check-out and transfer to Wilson Airport Nairobi, gateway to the flying safaris in Kenya. Time to board the Elewana Executive Grand Caravan. Your SkySafari will now take to the Air! Fly to Amboseli National Park. After a 45 minute flight, you will land in the middle of the Park, the Tortilis Camp Team welcoming you at the airstrip. You will board your safari vehicles to be transferred to your Camp, with your first game drive en-route. You will arrive at the Camp in time for lunch. Then you have an afternoon game drive with a sundowner before driving back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
On your second day in Amboseli you'll take an early morning game drive, stopping for a bush breakfast. After lunch you'll have the option of taking a walking safari or another game drive, with both activities culminating in cocktails watching the sunset, before returning to camp for dinner.

After a final game drive in Amboseli you'll transfer back back to the Amboseli airstrip. The plane will now take you to Meru National Park located in the region of Mount Kenya. Landing at the Meru airstrip, the Elsa’s Kopje Team will welcome you and you will be transferred to the Lodge, arriving in time for High Tea. You will be offered a massage for pure relaxation, or alternatively, you will go on a game drive.
On your second day you'll rise early and head off into the wilderness. After a morning filled with excitement return to the lodge to relax and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Explore more of Meru National Park on a game drive with sundowner drinks served overlooking the park, before returning to the lodge in time for dinner.

Unashamedly romantic and beautifully styled, Elsa’s Kopje is sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable. This morning you have an early departure for a safari walk. Lunch served at the Lodge before your transfer back to the Meru airstrip. Take off, and after flying about 90 minutes, you will land in the middle of the Masai Mara Reserve. The Sand River Masai Mara Team will welcome you at the Keekorok airstrip. You will be transferred to the camp with a game drive en-route, and arriving in time for Sundowners.
On the second day after an early breakfast you'll enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. A picnic lunch will be served out in the wilds. Stop at an authentic Masai Village to interact and learn about the customs and culture of this colourful tribe before heading back to camp for a Farewell Dinner.

Back to Camp for lunch and mid-afternoon, you will be transferred back to the Keekorok airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi. Your local representative will welcome you upon arrival. You will be chauffeured to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; before arriving there you will stop at one of Nairobi’s restaurants where dinner will be served. Booked a last minute Safari to Kenya, to take advantage of terrific airfares from the States and to get ahead of the crowds, once people rush back to Africa to see the amazing wildlife, geography, and kind people. Odyssey navigated every detail - took the time to interview me and match what they learned to the type of accommodations and safari experience I was looking for. On a scale of 1-10, in multiple factors, they scored 10 each time - it was a flawless (and relaxing) trip.
What can I say! I definitely am blown away by Odyssey Safari. Before even arriving to Kenya Lucy was prompt in emailing us back and forth regarding the safari and what we would need for our visit. Everything was wonderful from the moment we were picked up from the airport by our tour guide Jackson who was on time at the airport and was waiting with a sign with our names on it. Jackson was great as our safari driver! We were able to see all big five animals up close and person. Jackson made sure that we had an incredible visit on our safari from the game rides to make sure we were comfortable in the lodges we stayed at. I will definitely be back again and will be requesting Jackson as my tour guide.
I would also highly recommend Odyssey Safaris for anyone looking to go to Africa. The hotels were clean, and considering that they had been closed for a year, they were in good order. The food was good and every member of the staff I encountered at each hotel, were kind and helpful. I will direct others who wish to go on a safari to your company. I have a few friends who are now looking to arrange a safari! Thank you for your exemplary organization of our safari and for having an amazing guide on staff.
We just returned how from one of the most incredible journeys I have every experienced, and I have explored hundreds of cities around the globe. An African Safari has always been a lot the top of my “must do” list, but timing and the expense have always held me back.
My takeaways for those considering the trip: 1) Odyssey Safaris was a pleasure to work with, and we will book more trips through them 2) Take advantage of the upgrades and excursions — they only add to the experience and your ability to relax and truly envelop yourself, and 3) Have an open mind — Hakuna Matatta.
